Identifying the Enemy - Professional Politicians in the U.S. Senate
Over the past 100 years, the professional politicians in Congress have passed an untold number of laws designed to strengthen their power and rob us of our freedoms. To regain those freedoms, Congress must be purged of the “professional politicians” and true, citizen representation must be restored in Washington, D.C.
Article I, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, as modified by the 17th Amendment, instructs us in the election of members of the Senate, as follows:
“The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.
Immediately after they shall be assembled in Consequence of the first Election, they shall be divided as equally as may be into three Classes. The Seats of the Senators of the first Class shall be vacated at the Expiration of the second Year, of the second Class at the Expiration of the fourth Year, and of the third Class at the Expiration of the sixth Year, so that one third may be chosen every second Year.”
Currently, there are 100 Senators, two for each of the fifty states.
The 33 Senators in Class I are up for re-election in November 2012.
The 33 Senators in Class II are up for re-election in November 2014.
The 34 Senators in Class III are up for re-election in November 2010. It should be noted that 38% of the seats (13 of the 34) are open. This means that, for a variety of reasons (not running for re-election, defeated in the primary, etc.), new Senators will be elected.
The remaining 21 seats are held by incumbent Senators who have been in public office for lengths of time ranging as high as 57 years.
As We the People consider the candidate for which to cast our vote, we must consider a number of factors such as age, length of time in current office, total length of time in public office and political ideology.
Unfortunately, our choices are limited to the Democrats and Republicans, the two parties that have brought our Nation to the brink of destruction. So, once again, we will be required to hold our noses in the voting booth and vote for the lesser of two evils. But, we all know that the lesser of two evils is still evil.
Beginning with the 2012 election, there will be another choice.
Immediately following the 2010 election, I intend to recruit American Citizen Party candidates to run for the Senate against the Class I incumbents in 2012 and defeat them with my plan to restore freedom to all American citizens.
In the meantime, I have prepared a listing of the 34 Class III Senate seats up for election on November 2, 2010. The names of the current office holders are sorted by “Total Years in Public Office”, from the most number of years in office to the least. This number is a more accurate method of identifying the “professional politicians” because it includes time served in the state House of Representatives, state Senate, as Governor, as state Attorneys General, on city councils and school boards, etc.
Please take a few minutes to review the document at the following link to see how many years your Senator has held public office:
As I was preparing the document, the source of our problems became evident. It is the “professional politicians” that have destroyed America and it is they who must be voted out of office.
Remember that our vote is the most powerful weapon on earth and they need it to stay in power.
If We the People are to restore our Nation to the Constitutional principles upon which it was founded, we must use it wisely.
For any freedom-loving American citizen who has ever thought about running for the Senate, start thinking about running in 2012 as an American Citizen Party candidate.
For the rest of you who want your freedoms back, send contributions to the American Citizen Party. We’ll begin building cash reserves to distribute to those candidates to get them elected.
This effort will continue in 2014, 2016 and beyond until the “enemies of freedom” are purged from the Senate.
Working together, we will take our country back and create a 21st century America with levels of freedom and prosperity never before experienced in our lifetimes.
