A Call for Volunteers to Help With Ballot Access

To run for public office and win, it takes more than just desire and a plan.  It takes organization, money, paid staff, and volunteers willing to commit their time and skills to the cause of freedom.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been doing some research into what is required for a third party candidate’s name to be placed on the November 2012 ballot.  As it turns out, each of the 50 states and 6 U.S territories has its own laws.

With federal, state and local filing deadlines fast approaching, I’m looking for 11 volunteers with at least basic Microsoft Excel skills to help complete a spreadsheet summarizing the various ballot requirements.  I have already spent several hours visiting the websites of each Secretary of State and have entered the appropriate links for you to follow.

The first ten volunteers will be assigned 5 states each.  The eleventh will be assigned the 6 territories.  I estimate that each state/territory will take about an hour to research and enter the required data into the spreadsheet.

Here are a few examples of the data needed to move the campaign forward:

* State’s total population
* State’s active voter registrations
* Date of the state’s primary election
* Third party/independent candidate filing dates
* Filing fees for federal, state and local offices
* Dates for gathering voter signatures on a petition
* Number of petition signatures required to obtain ballot access

There are several more categories of data and appropriate fields will be contained in the spreadsheet.

I will then assign your states/territories and email your portion of the spreadsheet. You will have until November 18th to complete the task and return the spreadsheet to me.

This information will form the basis for strategic decisions to restore the freedoms that were taken from us over 100 years ago.
